Cost benefit analysis for the restoration of ecosystem services of Biržulis and Stervas wetlands
Team of AAPC experts have completed cost benefit analysis for the restoration of ecosystem services of Biržulis and Stervas wetlands. The study provides analysis and assessment of costs of measures aiming to restore and enhance ecosystem services as well as expected benefits of the measures on ecosystem services. The restoration measures, grouped to five intervention scenarios were proposed by the client VŠį Nature Heritage Fund.
Marine Strategy Directive Implementation in Turkey
On February 2016, together with experts from NIRAS IC Sp. Z.o.o. (Poland) and other countries we started implementation of the Project “Capacity building on Marine Strategy Framework Directive in Turkey” (EuropeAid/135965/IH/SER/TR). The Project consists of two components: 1) Technical and administrative capacity building for future transposition and implementation of the MSFD and 2) Steps towards implementation of the Directive in selected regions of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. Our expert is responsible for the economic and social analysis in accordance with the MSFD.
LIFE fit for REACH
With colleagues from the other Baltic countries, we have just started a project “LIFE fit for REACH. Baltic pilot cases on reduction of emissions by substitution of hazardous chemicals and resource efficiency”. The project is aimed at: (a) protecting the environment and human health by making REACH implementation more effective, (b) increasing the knowledge and capacities of downstream SMEs in the Baltic States, (c) demonstrating effective substitution and resource efficiency cases in phasing out hazardous substances, and (d) engaging industry beyond project consortium and enhancing society dialogue: greening procurement, consumption, etc.
